For 24 years the Austrian German Swiss (AGS) Charity Bazaar has symbolized the historic and genuine relationship between Malaysia and Germany.
First established in 1986, from its humble beginning at the German Ambassador’s Residence, the AGS Charity Bazaar has grown into a grand and beloved yearly event. AGS receives generous support from the German speaking community of Malaysia. Moreover, the Embassies of Austria, Germany and Switzerland help sponsor the Bazaar. The Bazaar falls under the patronage of one Ambassador each year, taking turns honoring this role on a three-year rotational cycle. |

The AGS Charity Bazaar has been traditionally held on a Sunday in late November and is an eventful outing for the whole family. More than 1 000 visitors from the expatriate and local community living in Kuala Lumpur and surroundings have an opportunity to take home a variety of typical European Christmas handicraft items and decorations, homemade biscuits, marmelades, sweets, and traditional cakes. In addition, various lucky draws and prize giveaways occur. Volunteers from the Austrian, Swiss and German communities work hard throughout the year in preparation for the Bazaar.
There won’t be any commercial traders at this event !
The Bazaar is proud to hold the title as the non-commercial charity bazaar of this kind currently existing in Kuala Lumpur. |

AGS Charity Bazaar assists several Malaysian charities. Not only go the proceeds of the Bazaar to local charitable projects, but by also giving some of the charities a stand at the Bazaar, these charities are able to represent themselves and sell their own handicrafts and other products. The AGS- Team carefully scrutinizes and controls the spending and use of all donations and profits made from the Bazaar. |

Through the commitment of its members and friends in the German-speaking community, the AGS Charity Bazaar continues to honor its historical and meaningful spirit and role, year after year.
